Urban Youth Career Academy (UYCA) Youth Workforce Coordinator
ROLE SUMMARY
Urban Youth Career Academy’s mission is to provide transformative knowledge and opportunity for young adults ages 18-26 years old. Youth Workforce Coordinator will be responsible for developing and facilitating Urban Youth Career Academy’s (UYCA) 5-8 Day Career Readiness Training, developing relationships with community partners and employers, managing a caseload of up 120 youth annually and providing meaningful insight and innovative ideas for the betterment of Urban Youth Career Academy.
Reports to: UYCA Program Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and facilitate Urban Youth Career Academy’s 5-8 Day Career Readiness Training; oversee monthly Mini Career Fairs for each UYCA Cohort
- Work with WFD Intake Specialist to assure UYCA Youth Intake information is correct and UYCA Youth are properly enrolled into UYCA before beginning 5-8 Day Career Readiness Training
- Assure that all UYCA Youth complete Career Readiness Training with: Intake Form, Assessment, Individual Career Plan, Resume, Knowledge of Project Management, Interviewing Skills, Elevator Pitch, On the Job Training and needed resources to be successful
- Maintain good records of all attendance logs, intake paperwork, coursework and any other required documentation for UYCA Youth
- Conduct file review for each UYCA Youth before assigning youth to Career Coach
- Provide monthly programmatic reports outlining enrollment numbers, retention numbers, placement numbers and recommendations for programmatic growth
- Outsource industry leaders, community advocates and employers to serve as Guest Speakers
- Lead onsite and offsite special projects as requested by Program Manager
- Manage Rise Kit intake online software; training will be provided
- Work with WFD Compliance and Internal Review Manager to complete internal audits quarterly
- Host 1 special event geared towards enhancing the lives of UYCA Youth monthly
- Attend all UYCA weekly meetings and monthly events as well as all of WFD and CUL staff meetings and events
- Maintain open and professional communication with UYCA Youth, staff, families, funding sources, employers, community partners and direct supervisor
- Other duties assigned by Program Manager
NECESSARY SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology or Similar Field preferred
- 2-3 years of Group Facilitation required
- 2-3 years of Working with Youth ages 18-26 required
- Experience in the area of: teaching, training and Workforce Development a plus
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This is a salaried hybrid (50% Remote & 50% In-Office) position. Note: Career Readiness Training will take place onsite and offsite. Youth Workforce Coordinator schedule will adjust based on programmatic needs. Position offers benefits and 401K plan.
